Thanks to the folks at Harlequin Audio (a brand new division of Harper Audio – in fact this book and two others by Debbie Macomber that I recorded last spring were the first to be finished) I have two copies of THE CHRISTMAS BASKET by Debbie Macomber to give away. I think this sweet tale will warm the hearts of anyone who enjoys a feel good, PG-rated Holiday Romance!

Here’s a description from the Publisher:

“That summer—more than ten years ago, while they were still in high school—Noelle McDowell and Thomas Sutton fell secretly in love. Secretly, because their mothers had been locked in a bitter feud for decades. But despite the animosity between Sarah McDowell and Mary Sutton, Noelle planned to elope with Thom. Until he jilted her.

This Christmas Noelle McDowell is home to celebrate the holidays with her family. After all, December 25 is also her birthday. Unfortunately, Noelle’s feelings about home—or rather, her hometown of Rose, Oregon—were changed forever the day Thomas Sutton broke her heart.

This Christmas the feuding mothers find themselves working together to fill Christmas baskets for charity. What irony! And what an opportunity for reconciliation … if only they could see it.

This Christmas Noelle and Thom discover they’re still in love. Regardless of their mothers’ reactions, they want to be together. Is that possible? Can old rivalries be set aside? Will Sarah’s Christmas daughter have a second chance with Mary’s charming son?

Maybe she will … this Christmas!”

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.  Maria D. and Deb are the randomly selected winners and the CDs will be mailed out to them as soon as I get their addresses.  Thanks to all for entering!  I give away lots of books – to find out about them in the future, please consider following this blog, or my Facebook page, or on Twitter.

  1. ‘Twas the Night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore – fond memories of listening to my kindergarten teacher reading the book to the class during story hour.

  2. The Christmas Shoes. My then 7 year old son (now 20) played the young boy in our church play. I read that book and I see my son in the story and its a tearjerker.

  3. I have two favorites – Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber – always makes me happy to read her holiday stories and I also loved The First Love Cookie Club by Lori Wilde – it was such a sweet romance story. Great Giveaway…Thanks for the chance!

    • Maria, you are one of the randomly selected winners of this audiobook! I will be emailing you to get your mailing address shortly.

  4. I love The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

  5. I loved A Light in the Window by Julie Lessman.

    • I don’t know that one; I’ll have to check it out.

  6. It has to be “The Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry. I love the intimacy of it, the giving and yet reckless way they act toward one another … and yet, that’s how love is! Thanks for this opportunity!

    • Oh yes that’s a good one, too.

  7. A Christmas Carol – the original and all its variations – is my favorite holiday story because it reminds us to stop and think how things might have been, or still could be.

    • Oh that’s a beautiful thought!
