A FATAL CHAPTER by Lorna Barrett plus GIVEAWAY

Book 9 in the Booktown Mystery Series.F0796_FatalChapter-238x238

Available now from Tantor Audio.

From the Publisher:

“While out walking Sarge, her sister’s bichon frise, Tricia is led by the agitated dog to a man lying in a gazebo. She’s startled when she recognizes Pete Renquist, the president of the Stoneham Historical Society, who appears to be suffering from cardiac arrest. When Pete later dies in the hospital, the discovery of a suspicious bruise and a puncture mark on his arm suggests he may have been murdered.

Haunted by Pete’s enigmatic last words to her, Tricia begins to consider who had a motive to kill her friend. Did Pete take his flirting too far, only to have a jealous husband teach him a lesson? Or did he discover something in the town’s historical records that his killer wanted kept secret? Tricia is determined to get to the bottom of things before someone else becomes history . . .”

My recording experience:

Poor Tricia is haunted by the loss of her bookstore to fire in the previous book, but the kooky characters that populate in Stoneham, aka Booktown, plus stumbling on yet another dead body keep her from dwelling too much on her woes.  This book delves more deeply into her relationship with her sister, Angie, and it was fun to find out more of her backstory.  Narrating another book in this series had me wondering – are there really towns filled with bookstores? And I found out that there are enough that they have their own International Organization!  Who knew?

  1. A bookstore that carries all types of books, especially romance, mystery and children’s books.

  2. I’d like one just like the one in my hometown. The owner carries all types of books but specializes in romances and mysteries. Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I think I’d like a book store like Tricia’s, actually, but with an emphasis on cozy mysteries!

    • JoAnne, you are the randomly selected winner! I’ll be contacting you via email to get your mailing address.

  4. I would love to have a Travel bookstore- kind of like the one in the movie “Notting Hill”
