Today is the first day of JUNE IS AUDIOBOOK MONTH 2012 (aka JIAM2012) and I’ll be kicking off with the first of my “Behind the Scenes” interviews with women who each play a vital role in sheparding an audiobook into final form — from page to your ears.
Although I’ve performed a few roles besides that of narrator, this was an eye-opening experience for me, as I hope it will be for you all. This is an ever-evolving industry and we are all doing our best to rise to the challenge of changing formats, listener tastes, technological advances and economic realities. I am so proud to be a part of an industry that puts so many diverse creative minds to work. I hope you’ll join me in reading about what all these clever women do to produce audiobooks.
I’ll be posting a new interview each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this month, with an interview every day the last week of June, when Devourer of Books ramps up JIAM2012 with Listen Up! Audiobook Week.
To find more JIAM2012 events, look for the hashtag #JIAM2012 on Twitter. I’ll also be linking to other blogs and articles over the course of the month, so let me know if you’re posting about your love of audiobooks, too!
