Available at Tantor Media.

From Erica Heller, daughter of Catch-22 author Joseph Heller, comes a mordantly funny, poignant, and incisive memoir about growing up with her father.

Listen to a sample:

On Oprah’s Fall Reading List.

“A rare combination of candor, humor, and compassion, this book is for all [listeners], especially of literary and family memoirs, and all fans of Heller. A fine combo with Tracy Daugherty’s Just One Catch: A Biography of Joseph Heller.” —Library Journal Starred Review

“An affectionate family scrapbook crafted with a bittersweet blend of humor and pathos.” —Kirkus

“Charming and combative.” —The New York Times

  1. This sounds interesting. I remember when Catch-22 came out (yes, I’m that old) and I read it soon after. I’ll have to pick this one up.

    • I just looked up the publishing history — seems it was pubb’d in 1961.. I DO remember when it first came out but I didn’t read it until, um, I’m guessing 67 or 68.

      • Maybe it was when the paperback came out?

      • p.s. I loved the word “spoilery” in your FOREVER review!

    • Would you like to review it? I can send you an mp3 copy (and even a CD copy if you want to host a giveaway). Let me know…
